The Senators at Laughing Goat

February 5 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Senators are excited to announce an intimate performance at The Laughing Goat as stop on the band’s winter tour. The critically-acclaimed indie-folk act is touring the Southwest with the release of King of America, the latest EP from their recording sessions with producer Simone Felice (The Lumineers, Jade Bird, Felice Brothers). These songs feature classic folk instrumentality and reflect the vastness of the desert Southwest.

“Not only are The Senators declaring a kind of liberation from previous folk rules, but charting ahead … their music follows suit.” – Tucson Weekly

The Senators recently left their hometown of Phoenix to make a record in the Catskill Mountains – upstate New York country that has been home to folk legends like The Band, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell. After emailing a homemade demo to one of their folk idols, Simone Felice (Felice Brothers, Lumineers, Jade Bird), they were invited to record at Simone’s studio, an old converted barn.

Recently, The Senators released two EP’s from these sessions as the Promised Land and King of America EP, collaborating with Phoenix-based Fortoul Brothers for the album’s art and visuals. These songs are included on several Spotify editorial playlists. The album’s first single, Wild Wide Open, has been streamed over a million times.
