The Power of Poetry: Colorado Poets Discuss Resistance and Social Justice in the time of COVID

JLF (Jaipur Literature Festival) Colorado Presents a Virtual Live Webinar Featuring Nationally Renowned Local Poets, Wednesday, September 30, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm MDT

Boulder, CO (September 25, 2020) – The JLF (Jaipur Literature Festival) Colorado is hosting a live virtual conversation with leading Colorado poets. In this session, nationally renowned local poets Franklin Cruz, Brice Maiurro, Bianca Mikahn, and Suzi Q. Smith will discuss Poetry, Resistance, and Social Justice on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm MDT, via ZOOM.

This is the 6th session in JLF Colorado’s virtual summer series highlighting leading, diverse Colorado writers in conversation about dismantling structural racism, equity, and social justice. JLF Colorado provides an opportunity to hear from local authors, writers and scholars as they discuss social change in the midst of the pandemic. Words are not only integral, but also essential, to processes of knowledge, understanding, and change at any time and in any place.

In this series, Colorado poets will address the societal question, ‘Who is telling the story? The hunters or the lions?’ This free virtual literary event features diverse Colorado poets and scholars reflecting on the power of poetry in deconstructing and decolonizing systems, narratives, and minds.
