Suffragette Lucy Stone@Longmont Library!

March 19 @ 7:00 pm

Join Lyda Mary Hardy for this first-person living history portrayal of Lucy Stone. It was Lucy Stone who converted Susan B. Anthony to the cause of women’s suffrage. Stone was the first Massachusetts woman to earn a college degree, and soon after, she began to lecture for the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society, at a time when it was forbidden for women to speak in public. Admitting that, “I was a woman before I was an abolitionist, I must speak for the women,” Stone spent her life devoted to women’s issues. Registration is required. Please check the library web site www.longmontcolorado.gov/library for more information.
