Shoebox Stories Live with the Boulder JCC

January 14 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Motus Theater invites community leaders selected by the Boulder JCC to stand in the shoes of Motus’ undocumented monologists by reading aloud their words.

Readers for the evening, selected by the Jewish Community Center will be:
Caroline Saliman, Teacher at Har HaShem & Boulder Jewish Community Center Preschool
Naomi Feiman, Pediatrician & Founder of the Moral Minyan
Elias Sacks, Associate Professor of Jewish Studies and Religious Studies, Director of Programing, Jewish Studies at the University of Colorado
Bella Weksler, Fairview High School Junior
Jon Wood, Knowledge Management at Kantar

The participating leaders don’t necessarily agree with all the decisions made by the undocumented young people whose personal stories they are reading. They are exhibiting courageous civic empathy, and suspending judgement to see the world, for a moment, through another person’s eyes.

Don’t miss leaders from across our community from religious leaders, to fraternity presidents, to business, youth and political leaders step into the shoes of undocumented people and see the world, for a moment through their eyes.
