Flex+ ft. Art Lande/Gonzalo Teppa/Dru Heller/Shane Endsley/Sam Williams

Last November’s sold out Flex concert at Dazzle was great fun. It had a strong, positive vibe and was the final event in a season of concerts following the release of their second album Slate & Quartz.

As promised, Art has written more new music for this season, and some were conceived for a group with even more Flexion. This version of Flex+ augments the band to a quintet through the herculean horns of Shane Endsley and Sam Williams.

Shane and Art have played together for more than three decades. He is an educator, a founding member of the band Kneebody, and a dynamic force in modern music heard here, there, and nearly everywhere.

Sam is a masterful musician in a wide variety of musical settings from orchestras to big bands, jazz and chamber groups. In recent years, Art and Sam have played several duo concerts and they’ve established a fabulous chemistry. They’ve recorded their first duo album and it will be released later this year.

In addition to new, original music from the desert for Flex+, Art is excited to share his new arrangements of spring songs with the band and listeners to help move us out of a frozen winter and into the light of a warm and joyful spring season.
