Cirque de Menses: A Menstruation Celebration! Vol.2
May 20 @ 6:30 pm
Join us for the 2nd annual “Cirque de Menses: A Menstruation Celebration!”, in honor of Global Menstrual Hygiene Day. The second volume of “Cirque de Menses,” will feature circus arts performances by The Fractal Society and raise funds for the non-profit PridePads Africa.
About the Show
Our favorite Fairy Flow Mother, Aunt Flo, is back to shatter period shame! The show follows the story of a young girl who is feeling really down about her period. Being a teenager is hard enough, and Flo is on a mission to show that menstruators have a wide range of unique experiences, all of which are normal. The show flows through light, comedic interpretations and heavier personal experiences to honor the magic and misery of menstruation. Cirque de Menses is a PG-13 performance presented through awe-inspiring performances including aerialists dancers, acrobats, and more! This show is for menstruators, non-menstruators, former menstruators, and still-to-become menstruators alike.

A Benefit for PridePads Africa
Through this event, we will raise funds for PridePads Africa, a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in Boulder, CO. PridePads Africa produces biodegradable, eco-friendly, and affordable menstrual pads for women and girls in rural Cameroon. The PridePads team also provides menstrual health education in schools in Cameroon ensuring that girls stay in school and don’t miss out on their education during their periods.
75% of ticket proceeds will go directly to PridePads and their goal of securing a new facility in Ngaoundéré, Cameroon so that the organization can continue to grow as a business supporting women. Pads are produced locally, creating livelihood empowerment and economic opportunities for Cameroonian women and girls.
