Boulder Phil: Zuill and Zwilich

January 23 @ 7:30 pm

Grammy-winning cellist Zuill Bailey returns to Boulder for the first of two programs with the Phil. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s new concerto, written for Zuill, is full of playful jazz and pop influences. We’re pleased to present the premiere of a chamber-sized revision of the concerto, mirroring the instrumentation of one of the great chamber works in the repertoire, Schubert’s Trout Quintet. Streamed online.

Michael Butterman, piano
Jennifer Hayghe, piano
